With Herriman in California, Tad Dorgan nostalgically draws a picture of his old friend on an art department wall in Indoor Sports. Also seen here is a letter from Tad Dorgan to Arthur Brisbane, two years before Dorgan’s death. Pages from a promotional magazine show Herriman’s first home in The Outpost development; his second house in this development was in the hills overlooking Hollywood. The weather vane stood atop Herriman’s Hollywood home; the figures suggest Herriman’s dogs and the types of angel figures that Bobbie Herriman liked to draw. Also seen here are examples of Herriman’s turn with the Embarrassing Moments, including one cartoon acknowledging Robert Naylor’s help.
